Noman Elias, who was leading in the third round, could not maintain his momentum on the final day.
National Amateurs Golf Championship: Women’s Event Title Goes to Army
In the 4-day event held in Karachi, Saad Habib secured the first position with an overall score of 6 over par. He was not even in the top 5 on the leaderboard by the third day.
On the final day, he faced bogeys on the first and fifth holes but then made a strong comeback. He birdied the 6th, 10th, 11th, 15th, 16th, and 17th holes, completing the fourth round with a score of 4 under par to seize the top spot on the leaderboard.
Pakistan Wins International Event and Trophy at National Amateurs Golf Championship
Dhanushan Kanshasa Kumar from Sri Lanka secured the second position, while Shah Mir Majid finished third on the leaderboard with a score of 9 over par.
Noman Elias, who had the advantage on the third day, could not sustain his momentum. On the final day, bogeys on 8 holes caused him to drop from first to fourth position.
In the women’s event of the National Amateur Golf Championship, Aniya Farooq won the title, and Anna James Gill secured the second position.
At the event’s closing ceremony, Lieutenant General (Retd.) Qazi Muhammad Ikram, President of the Pakistan Golf Federation, distributed prizes among the players.
The Army team won the Men’s Team Championship, while the FGA won the Senior Men’s Team Championship.
The International Team Event was won by Pakistan’s A Team, consisting of Saad Habib and Noman Elias. The Jay Vardhan Trophy also went to Pakistan’s A Team.
