Karachi?The final of Rustam-e-Pakistan Dangal will be held at Asghar Ali Shah Stadium here on May 22, Sindh Sports Minister Dr. Muhammad Ali Shah announced on Thursday.
?We want to promote local grapplers in Karachi, thus the final is being staged here,? he told a news conference at Karachi Gymkhana.
A handsome prize money of Rs 600,000 will be distributed among the winners. Sindh Chief Minister, Syed Qaim Ali Shah will be the chief guest at the final.
He said besides Rustam-e-Pakistan final between Majeed Pehalwan of Pakistan Army and Hamid Khan of WAPDA, 15 out bouts will also be held on the occasion.
After competition in Lahore, Faisalabad and other places top pehalwans have qualified for the final.
Rustam- e- Pakistan will be presented a trophy and cash prize of Rs 300,000 and runner-up will pick up Rs 200,000.
He said a special ?desi? (indigenous) ring is being established in the stadium where the event will be contested.
