About the Fulbright FLTA Program
The Fulbright Foreign Language Teaching Assistant (FLTA) Program is a prestigious exchange initiative sponsored by the U.S. Department of State. In Pakistan, it is administered by the United States Educational Foundation in Pakistan (USEFP). The program provides young, early-career English language teachers with the opportunity to teach Urdu or Pashto at U.S. universities while also taking academic courses and engaging in cultural exchange.
Program Details
- Duration: Nine months (Fall 2027 – Spring 2028)
- Role: Teaching Assistant and student at a U.S. host institution
- Responsibilities: Teach Urdu or Pashto, participate in campus life, and take courses
- Living Arrangements: On-campus housing with U.S. students
