The barbaric attacks on Mumbai hotels and attack on Islamabad Marriott raise doubts in the travel trade about how safe the big renowned luxury hotels are.
We have seen some terrorism activities in surroundings of this type of hotels in past but never at such magnitude as in Mumbai Taj or in Islamabad Marriott, when hotels were COMPLETELY brought to ashes.
The travel industry in general and the hotel industry needs to think of ways to avoid such incidents, but can they really help.
These attacks bring about devastation and sorrows and also a lot of disappointment among the travelers who enjoy the smiles of the friendly staff and the lovely decor of these hotels.
Companies who prefer their executives and staffs to get the finest comfort when they travel abroad or while they are participating year end sales activities? now will have to find different venues or can the hotel industry assure the safety.
Situation in Mumbai has gone a bit too far its hard to believe that even after 24 hours the terrorist are terrorizing us and we just CAN’T do much. The world need to sit together again and think of ways to eradicate this phenomenon and the root causes of this, I am sure this is not any more a religious activity. It is a cancer of our society as President of Pakistan Asif Zardari said few days back.
