About the Walk
The Heritage Walk is being organized in connection with World Tourism Day 2025. This guided journey will take you through some of Lahore’s lesser-known yet architecturally rich landmarks. Participants will explore the Mughal-era Tomb of Khan Bahadur Kokal Tash, the colonial-era Sir Shadi Lal Building, and the historically significant Poonch House. Expert guides from the Tourism Archaeology & Museums Department, Punjab, will share historical insights and cultural anecdotes throughout the walk.
Distance and Accessibility
The entire walk covers approximately 3.5 kilometers, spread across central Lahore. It is designed as an easy walking tour, suitable for people of all ages. Comfortable walking shoes are recommended. The roads are paved, and the pace will be moderate with breaks at each stop.
How to Reach the Starting Point
The entry point is the TDCP Head Office, located at 24 Egerton Road, Lahore. It is easily accessible by car, public transport, or ride-hailing apps like Careem and Uber. For visitors arriving from outside Lahore, the office is about:
- 20 minutes from Allama Iqbal International Airport (12 km).
- 10 minutes from Lahore Railway Station (5 km).
- Walking distance from major hotels near Egerton Road and Mall Road.
