@Kien8486 No that is most upsetting..I heard this baby died 11 days after birth..Poor soul.May Allah bless him :(
@StylesP1987 That is merely a rumor had you researched the disease more. The disease is the most severe for of ichthyosis called Harlequin type ichthyosis. It is a recessive trait meaning both the mother and the father must carry the gene. The disease is so rare that the statistic is roughly 1 in 1,000,000. The odds of this disease are the same for every nation. The organ of which is skin produces excess skin cells and becomes disorganized and tight. So tight that the eyelids turn inside out.
@Kien8486 not at all, the majority of cases of this form of icthyosis the infant dies within the first 2 days from dehydration, If they survive they will most likely succumb to infection. There are rare cases in the U.S. of babies surviving this skin disease using a very strong prescription acne medication.
Do babies like this live long?
This was anabsolute tragedy that this child had to be born with that pain. That is the result of consistent first cousin marriages that occur generation after generation in a family. This ridiculous, tribalistic and unislamic practice should be stopped to avoid this.
Astaghfirullah…..May Allah give his parents sabr, and we should all say astaghfaar for what we do in our lives…
Actually, there have been a couple of cases of people living to adulthood with Harlequin syndrome. It’s a terrible illness and most often fatal, but it is possible to live with it.
Ina Lillahi wa Ina Lillah!
The poor child is suffering from a rare skin condition called Harlequin Ichthyosis.
May Allah (Swt) help it, Ameen!?

child always be innocent , but i am upset bcoz this baby has so much pain and how their parents feel when they see own baby in pain,
Allah Release this baby pain , and give calm, patience their parents.
I feel bad for the parents and the TV presentation over this medical issue.
but hats off to the government of Gilgit who is financing officially, the treatment of the child in pain.
being a father I can i can feel the pain the baby must be in and pray for the pain relief. May God give reliefe to the parents as well. Amen
this is a genetic disorder where the skin thickens then cracks and where theinfants eyes and mouth are abnormally contracted
Unfortunately the baby will be in a pain and life expectancy is a few days or weeks only
bacteria gets into the cracks of the skin and spreads, it overwhelms the babies blood supply – there is no cure and the infant dies
Why the Television company and the hordes of onlookers think looking at a baby in torment is a news item is beyond most people
