Product Description
The astonishing, uplifting story of a real-life Indiana Jones and his humanitarian campaign to use education to combat terrorism in the Taliban?s backyard

Anyone who despairs of the individual?s power to change lives has to read the story of Greg Mortenson, a homeless mountaineer who, following a 1993 climb of Pakistan?s treacherous K2, was inspired by a chance encounter with impoverished mountain villagers and promised to build them a school. Over the next decade he built fifty-five schools?especially for girls?that offer a balanced education in one of the most isolated and dangerous regions on earth. As it chronicles Mortenson?s quest, which has brought him into conflict with both enraged Islamists and uncomprehending Americans, Three Cups of Tea combines adventure with a celebration of the humanitarian spirit.

WORST BOOK I’VE EVER bought. TMI, TMI, TMI, the author takes multi-page tangents and detours, choppy, incoherent babbling. Does he really expect us to believe a missionary child, stranded and lost on a mountain never prayed and asked God for help? Jesus and God aren’t even listed in the index! It’s a boring, self-aggrandizing load of trash. The full story is told on the back cover – end of story. I’m returning my copy for refund.

When I received the book it was in poor condition. When I ordered the book it said it was in good condition. It looked like something was spilt all over the pages. I ended up going out and purchasing a new one at the book store. I spent $8 more than I would have if I did that in the first place. I would be very apprehensive to order another one on Amazon.

This is, apparently,a true story of a young American man’s inspiration and commitment to help rural Pakistanis by building schools for boys and girls at his expense. He did gain, and didget some support later on and built many schools. I think he plans to work in Afghanistan too, in the mountainous area next to Pakistan. He earned the trust of many Muslims, so that he was accorded the third cup of tea.
