Posted on December 17, 2008January 19, 2009 By Jamal Panhwar No Comments on Re-opening of Marriott Hotel

marriott_hotel_islamabadAfter suicide-attack, Islamabad Marriott Hotel would be re-opened on December 28 with a new look and state-of-the-art security gadgets. The spokesperson of the hotel said that Chief Executive of the hotel, Sadruddin Hashwani would grace the soft opening ceremony as the grand ceremony would be held about a couple of months later, likely in March next year.

Marriott Hotel was closed down after a suicide attack on September 20, claiming the lives of 78 people and left several others injured.

The Spokesperson said the administration has taken all possible measures to protect human lives as well as the structure from any damage. ?We have raised a blast-proof wall and blast proof room, having the capacity to resist and absorb the shock of explosion carried out by maximum quantity of explosive,? Spokesperson said as per revised security plan, the provision of car parking inside the hotel has been abandoned except the limousines of head of states would be allowed to take in, but not park.
