GILGIT, Nov 20 20199 :A delegation of Buddhists pilgrims from South Korea visited the ancient Kargah Budha in Gilgit and offered special prayers there.
According to the Gilgit district administration the Korean delegation visited ancient Kargah Budha, an archaeological site located about six miles outside of the Gilgit in Gilgit Baltistan north eastern Pakistan.
The Kargah Buddha is is carved in the cliff-face in Kargha Nallah Gilgit, date back to 7th to 8th century, when the area was in part of China.
The Korean delegation after their religious obligation offered their special thanks and appreciated the efforts of government of Pakistan for protecting the Budhist remains in Pakistan.
They also appreciated the GB government for making special security measures during their visit.
On the occasion commissioner Gilgit division Usman Ahmad while talking to APP said that the visit of the Korean delegation would surely help promote religious tourism in the region and government of Gilgit Baltistan was always ready to welcome the guest from outside of the Pakistan.
Many Korean groups are now visiting Pakistan for archaeological as well as cultural sites in the south and North of Pakistan, one such group is also due to arrive Islamabad on 10th of Jan 2020 for a 10 days tour of Pakistan thru Travel & Culture Services Pakistan
