www.mqm.org http MQM Quaid Altaf Hussain Concerned at GILGIT BALTISTAN Situation after Floods MQM leader Altaf Hussain has expressed his concern at the situation obtaining in Gilgit Baltistan in the aftermath of heavy floods. He said that the all the land routes to Gilgit Baltistan have been cut off due to floods which has created a shortage of edibles and fuels in Gilgit Baltistan. He demanded of the government to send relief goods to Gilgit Baltistan through air without any delay. The scarcity of food and fuel and other problems have created disquietude in the people. Mr. Hussain said that MQM stood by the people of Gilgit Baltistan in these trying times. He demanded of President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Yusuf Raza Gillani and Chief Minister Gilgit Baltistan Syed Mehdi Ali Shah to ensure that relief goods reach the people thorough air routes. He has also called for speeding up relief efforts in other parts of the country as well.
