BRUSSELS: Pakistan has opened its first International Information Tourist Corner in Belgium to offer Europeans Pakistan’s unique culture, stunning scenic view of its northern areas and the traditional lifestyle of mountain people.
Launched jointly in collaboration with the Embassy of Pakistan in Brussels and Tribes, a Dutch Company established in Brussels, the tourist corner is the first-ever initiative by the Pakistani mission in Belgium to promote tourism in Pakistan
Speaking at the inauguration of the information centre, Belgian mountaineer Paul Hegge shared his experience and said he was greatly impressed with the beauty of K2. Hegge climbed the world’s second highest peak K2 mountain in 2018. “Mountain lovers will have great and unique opportunity to climb the chain of Pakistani mountains,” Hegge said.

Belgian photographer Benoit Sneessens also shared his work and experience in Pakistan through his documentary of the Northern areas of Pakistan. Sneessens who has visited Hunza six times and has spent considerable time with local people said they have inspired him with their great hospitality and culture.
Minister for Human Rights Dr Shireen Mazari while addressing the gathering said, Europeans must come to Pakistan and see the stunning beauty of North. “Pakistan has great mountain high peaks. If you explore Pakistan you will find beautiful beaches and lush green landscape.”
“Not only that, tourism will provide employment opportunities for the young and gear the economy of Pakistan,” she added.
