ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Tourism Development Cooperation (PTDC) has offered 50 percent discount on accommodation in its motels and hotels during the holy month of Ramazan.
Talking to media, an official of the PTDC said, “The PTDC has offered 30 percent discount on accommodation in Ayubia and Naran resorts and 50 percent discount at Saidu Sharif, Miandam, Chitral, Bamburet (Kalash Valley), Mastuj, Phandar, Gupis, Gilgit, Hunza, Sost (Pak-China border), Rama Lake, Skardu, Khaplu and Besham.
“Tourist traffic to Murree, Galiyat, Ayubia, Kaghan and Swat Valley have considerably increased during 2011 and 2012, while Pakistani tourists are now visiting new destinations like Gilgit, Hunza, Fairy Meadows, Rama Lake, Chitral, Kalash and Shandur valleys as well,” he added. He said, “The corporation has started its bus service for Naran to facilitate the nature lover who want to enjoy their summer vacations at the hilly areas.”
“Miandam, Bahrain and Kalam remained the most favourite destinations for the tourists visiting Swat Valley,” the official added.
He said the PTDC Motel at Saidu Sharif and Miandam are fully functional and offering homely environment for the visitors. He said mountains, white water sports, hiking areas in Pakistan are ideal for adventure tourists, while valleys, deserts, beaches are for nature lovers and the Buddhist heritage sites of Gandhara, Sikh sacred shrines, Hindu holy temples, Indus Valley Civilisation sites are best-suited for pilgrims, scholars and students. “The cosmopolitan cities like Karachi, Lahore and Rawalpindi/Islamabad offer an attractive culture, heritage, modernity and countless shopping opportunities,” the official said. “Pakistan’s Himalayan hill stations of Murree, Bhurban, Patriata, Ayubia and Nathiagali provide delightful summer treat to the visitors,” he said. The PTDC official said that Pakistan was already providing visa-on-arrival facility to tourist groups from 24 countries.
The PTDC is offering tourism services for foreign and Pakistani tourists through its tourist information centres, its publicity and promotion department, hotels, motels and tours and transport subsidiaries. The corporation, with the largest chain of hotels, motels and restaurants, a fleet of tourist transport and professional staff, is well equipped to cater to the needs of the tourists. app
