PESHAWAR, Dec 20: The NWFP government has constituted a committee to promote tourism in the province.
The provincial chief secretary would act as chairman and additional chief secretary as vicechairman of the body, while secretaries of finance, tourism and any administrative secretary (on case to case basis) would be members of the body.
Also, director Archaeology and Museums, Chief Conservator Wildlife Zahoor Durrani, chief executive M/s Sehari Travels, Editor Dawn NWFP Ismail Khan and managing director Sarhad Tourism Corporation would be its members.
The terms of reference of the committee would be to remove inter-provincial bottlenecks in tourism projects, expedite departmental responses to tourism development initiatives to coordinate the execution of projects.
The committee would hold meetings on monthly basis to keep up with a regular schedule and would seek ways and means to place tourism as an engine of growth for the province.
