Theme: Endangered Built Heritage of Pakistan
The Silk Road Centre is a nonprofit educational and cultural organization that provides a forum for promoting understanding and value of cultural diversity and intercultural dialogue. Silk Road Centre’s programs support promotion, preservation and revitalization of rich cultural heritage of the Silk Road in Pakistan with a view to facilitating sustainable development.
The Silk Road Centre is organizing a national photo contest to promote understanding of Pakistan’s endangered built heritage. There are hundreds of historical and religious buildings, monuments, and archeological sites that are unprotected and facing the threat of extinction. The heritage photo contest is aimed at promoting understanding and the essence to preserve and promote these valuable cultural resources. All those who have genuine interest in photography and rich cultural heritage of Pakistan are welcome to submit images!
Photographs sent for the contest must have been taken between 1 January, 2013 and 30 September, 2013.
