ISLAMABAD, May 13 (APP): Federal Minster for Religious Affairs, Syed Hamid Saeed Kazmi has said that the efforts are underway for reducing the Hajj expenditures. He said this while giving instructions to the senior officers of the Ministry at National Assembly Chamber here on Thursday.
The minister explained the reasons resulted in increase in the expenditures on Hajj.
He said that increase in the rate of inflation, the increase in fuel prices devaluation of Pakistani currency, increase in the rent of residential building for pilgrims in Saudi Arabia and additional facilities for pilgrims at Mina are some of the reasons which have brought an increase in Hajj expenditures.
Hamid Saeed Kazmi further added that the Ministry is trying to reduce the expenditures despite all the above mentioned hindrances.
He said that Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza has assured full cooperation to the Religious Affairs Ministry and he has constituted a Committee which would look into the matter and would consult with PIA, Finance Ministry and Religious Affairs Ministry for reducing the expenditures on Hajj
